Before this digital age there was dirt, and trees, her cousin CJ's basement, my backyard swimming pool and love from our slobbery sweet puppies (RIP Elsie, Tater and Snickers). There were Archie Comic books, road trips, slumber parties where we stayed up late pouring ourselves into our sketch books full of dreams. I wish I had my phone full of these memories like I would today, but they will have to stay etched on my heart. This is a piece of my childhood, a girl I moved from scrappy kneed girlhood to teen with, makes me long for the Pacific Northwest, the river, the togetherness of a big family and a time when we played outside till it was dark.
I was over the moon excited to see her again, after 15 years, and this weekend was blessed to capture her and her boys here near my sunny so cal home. Thank you for popping up in my life again Jenn. It's so good to be reminded of whats important and that these things come and go unattained or changed by time. You are a wonderful mother and your boys are so lucky to have you.
